Miss Shayna has over 25 years of dance experience with a strong focus on pre-professional and competitive dance. She began her dance training under her mother, Helene Joy Chapman at the early age of 2. Her passion for dance grew immensely and by the age of 14 was selected to tour the country with the Dance Olympus faculty and performed in the closing show in each city.
By the time she was 17 years old, Shayna was teaching at the YMCA, local elementary schools as well as her mother’s dance studio - Helene Joy School of Dance. She continued to teach dance to multiple dance studios in Massachusetts for several years, building her dance resume and touching the lives of thousands of students she had the pleasure of working with.
In 2011, Shayna became the Company Director of the On Your Toes Dance & Theatre Company in Acton, MA. She has trained many students who have competed regionally, nationally and also invited to compete in the World Dance Championship where her students placed in the top 15 in the World. She is incredibly passionate about teaching dance and crafting creative and unique choreography for each student. She is excited to join the Shine On community and get to know each and every one of you!
Miss Erica has over 35 years of dance experience in which she studied at Helene Joy School of Dance. At the age of 16, she became a dance instructor and has taught both recreational and competitive levels. Many of her students have held regional and state titles, along with being recognized and presented with special judges' awards.
During her teen years, she was actively involved in competitions as well as beauty pageants. She has held many state and national titles, as well as representing Massachusetts as Ambassador for the Miss Hemisphere Pageants. In 1996, she was chosen by audition to tour with Dance Olympus as a VIP Dancer. She was one of the 25 dancers across the United States who had the chance to study, perform, and travel the states while showcasing her dance talents.
Erica has had the opportunity to dance with top choreographers such as Mia Michaels, Wade Robson, Gil Duldulao, Brian Friedman, Laurie Anne Gibson, and Tyce Diorio. She enjoys sharing her passion for dance and molding her students into well rounded dancers.
She is a certified dance instructor by Dance Teacher's Club of Boston as well as a certified Zumba instructor and personal trainer.
Miss Carla started her classical ballet training at the age of five in Byron, GA. She moved to Puerto Rico where she continued her studies at the Conservatory of Ballet Concierto under the tutelage of Carlota Carrera, Sylvia Marichal, Lourdes Gomez, Lolita San Miguel, among others.
As a student she received scholarships to train during the summers at the Rock School of Pennsylvania Ballet and at the 42nd Bartholin International Ballet Seminar in Copenhagen, Denmark. While in Denmark, she trained with Laura Alonso, Martin James and Fernando Bujones. At age sixteen she joined the company of Ballet Concierto of Puerto Rico where she had the pleasure of dancing in great classics like Giselle, Swan Lake, La Fille Mal Gardee, Copellia, Romeo and Juliet, Don Quixote and many others.
During her time as an undergraduate student, Carla was actively involved as a dancer in the Colleges of the Fenway (COF) Dance Project since it’s inception in 2006, and as a ballet instructor for LEAP (Lifelong Exercise and Activities Program) at Simmons College.
After graduating in 2010, Carla became an instructor for the COF Dance Project and is now the Assistant Director for the program.
