Dance Company

Dance Company is designed for the more serious dancer possessing qualities of hard work, dedication, passion, sportsmanship, enthusiasm, discipline, and stage personality. Dance Company Members have a strong commitment to dance as well as their fellow classmates. Attendance for Company classes will be crucial; dancers must be present to learn all choreography as well as technique and core training.

COMPANY IS AN AUDITIONED BASED GROUP, THERE IS NO GUARANTEE THAT A DANCER WILL BE CHOSEN FOR A TEAM

Dance Company Requirements

All dancers are expected to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to leaps & turns, choreography class and private lessons in proper dance attire (black leotard, tan tights, black dance shorts, proper dance shoes and hair up in a secure bun) for every company class. Dance Company members must also adhere to all teachers’ preferred dance attire for ALL classes attended as well as being in class, on time each week. All attendance is crucial in their technique classes to ensure their growth as a dancer and as a member of Dance Company.

Dance Company Auditions

Must be at least 6 years old to audition. Dancers under 6 will sign up for company!

All dancers auditioning for Dance Company will be evaluated for placement of group routines but are not guaranteed a spot on the Dance Company. Dancers will have the choice of auditioning for a solo, duo or trio on their audition sheet.

Please Note: No dancer may be cast a solo unless dancer chooses to audition specifically for a solo routine. All dancers must fill out an audition sheet that is signed by a parent, giving permission to audition for the company and agreement to the full commitment of the Company.

Dance Company Placement

Placement will be based on which dancers work best with each other. This does not necessarily mean that “friends” are always placed together. There are many times where a dancer will be placed with a completely new dancer and a new relationship will form. It is important for all dancers to understand working with new people.

All team placement decisions are made solely by our SOPAC Director, Shayna Chapman. There is absolutely no dropping or adding company routines after casting has been selected. Once a dancer’s audition sheet has been signed by a parent, it is a contract for the duration of the year for Dance Company. All schedules, routines, music, style, dancer selection, etc. are FINAL.
